Provide timepoints so we know what piece you are referring to and can check your work.
Introduce the video you are reporting on by answering these questions. This will be roughly one paragraph.
Describe the history and culture of the musical style in the video using the terms and concepts from the book and week 2 materials.
Introduce the performers or the musical group. If you don′t know the name of the individual performers, find the ensemble name. If neither are available, this is not an ideal video to use.

Refer to any sections in the book that may be relevant to the music you are covering. (So if you choose a gamelan concert, go to Chapter 7, Music of Indonesia, and brush up on Gamelan terms.)
Address behavior and conception in your report. If you′re not sure what this means, review pp. 14-16. This will be roughly one paragraph.
Behavior: How are the performers behaving? How is the audience behaving? Where does this concert take place and what types of performances happen at the venue usually?
Conception: This can be brief (1-2 sentences.) All you need to do is relate the music to a relevant topic that is mentioned in the ″Conceptions about Music″ paragraph on p. 16, or chapter discussions on that music.
For example, a Mariachi concert can be related to nationalism and ethnic identity very easily.
Other topics include: time, composition, aesthetics, philosophy, ideology, theology, nationalism, ethnic identity, ownership.
Personal Response and Conclusion
Mention how the concert informed and reinforced your understanding of topics from your reading and course activities. Also, be specific!
Was this concert interesting to you? Why or why not? Be specific and provide concrete reasons for your answer.
Discuss how this concert impacted your knowledge of the culture it was from.
