Write an essay that includes:
An introduction that includes an arguable thesis statement.
Three body paragraphs. Each body paragraph should analyze a separate scene from the show or movie. Dive below the surface. For example, when we discussed the final scene in Taming of the Shrew, we didn’t just repeat what happened. We talked about how the ending was written to appease the audiences of the time who might have walked out if a woman hadn’t shown obedience in the end. Or we said it might have been a play ahead of it’s time in that the longest speech of the play is given to a woman. We talked about how some scholars believe the play is ironic in that Bianca is the real shrew. Or how other scholars believe the play is a metaphor for falconry. (Apparently, people who tame falcons do so by starving the birds — who knew?) Do not simply talk about what happens in the scene, tell me what the scene represents for you.
