the topic is Why learn a second language.
The culmination of the class will require a final essay of a minimum of 5 pages (double spaced) with 12 point font, Times New Roman, and 1-inch margins–shared with my email in a Google Doc. The paper must be at least 5 five full pages meaning it must reach the bottom of the 5th page. The works cited page is not included in this limit. Your final essay can be any topic of your choosing regarding language.
FINAL ESSAY
The culmination of the class will require a final essay of 5 pages with 12 point font, Times New Roman, and 1-inch margins–shared with my email in a Google Doc and submitted under the FINAL PAPER portal on Blackboard. Your final essay can be any topic of your choosing regarding language. Perhaps the lecture on Second Language Acquisition sparked your interest in learning a second language. Maybe the lecture on Languages of the Future inspired you to discuss the role of Natural Language Processing in Artificial Intelligence. Whatever your topic, you should make sure it has adequate references and is properly sourced (cited correctly in MLA or APA).
Each essay should have between 5-10 sources (NOT listed in the powerpoint lectures), although more is encouraged. You should not plagiarize or copy/paste your discussion board posts. Any use of generative AI (such as ChatGPT) or plagiarism will result in a 0 grade (F) for the course.
