Submit a final draft cover letter & resume targeted for a specific opportunity you’d like to apply for. You can either edit and improve the cover letter & resume from the Unit 4 portfolio assignment or prepare a new one for a different position.
Use the job search strategies you learned in Unit 2 to find the job or internship. Use the Career & Internship Center’s Resume Writing GuideLinks to an external site. (PDF) for formatting instructions.Include 1 of your STAR stories in the Cover Letter incorporating keywords from the job description. Include at least 3 good experiences on your resume using the resume format from your Unit 3 Portfolio Assignment.
Make sure to re-read your own submission from your Unit 4 Portfolio Assignment. Incorporate any feedback you may have received.
Include a link to the job or internship posting in your assignment submission (Check for grammar, consistency in fonts/spacing, formatting etc.). Make sure the application deadline has not yet passed! If so, please start over targeting your materials to a new position that fits the expectations of your Unit 2 Portfolio Assignment.
