You are responsible for writing a paper that will explain the process by which you identified and analyzed two companies. One of those companies will have an exemplary set of ESG characteristics and the other will display the worst. The objective of your analysis is to identify each of those companies from among the components of the Wilshire 5000 Index, a free-float-adjusted, market-capitalization-weighted index designed to measure the market performance of large-, mid-, and small-capitalization stocks.
Your analysis will demonstrate why each of the two companies has the potential to create the greatest amount of shareholder wealth over the next ten years. Your paper (10 page minimum, double-spacing) will describe your analysis in the clearest possible terms and why your conclusion follows the results of that analysis.
It is essential that your paper provide detailed comparisons between the ESG and Anti-ESG companies that you select and their next-best alternatives. As such, you won’t want to select your companies until you’ve examined a large sample and have some comparative data.
