This is a application for a scholarship. Has to be 500 words or less. Cant go over. I wrote down some thing which you can expand on and add to make it better. So a little about me. I am an immigrant that came from India when I was 8 with my family. At 15yo my parents devoiced which was extremely had for me. We struggled a lot growing but where both my parents would work two jobs to make ends meet. They did there best to provide for my brother and I needs, but there were always things we couldn’t do due to Financial problems. I knew at a early age that I wanted to use this opportunity when coming to the United States to build a better life for them and my family. I went to school and became a registered nurse. I had to move away from California to go to Arizona for nursing school for 2.5 years. This was hard because I knew nobody in Arizona no family or friends. This was a extremely hard time for me and my single mom because while going to nursing school I couldn’t work full-time which took a financial burden when it came to paying bills. The following questions below are question that they said we can include, but it is not necessary.
How did you come to have this student debt? Went to school for registered nursing
Provide some back ground on your educational journey and pursuits? I knew I always wanted to become a nurse. When I graduated money was a factor holding me back. Me and my mom both had to work to make ends meet.
Where and how did your journey begin. This journey happened because I knew I had to do something with my life so my mom and I did didn’t have to live paycheck to paycheck.
What setbacks did you experience. Having to save money and using my Life savings to be able to go to nursing school. Nursing school was full-time and extremely hard where you could only work one day a week which I did. Moving away from family and friends for over 2 1/2 years not being able to come back and visit them as well since money was so tight.
What moments along the way did you find especially inspiring and fulfilling? I believe the most inspiring moment was my mom being able to see me walk the stage when I graduated. This was a huge milestone for both of us since we both struggled extremely hard while he being in school. I also made it on the Dean’s list and honors Association as well.
Even though I am a registered nurse now these loans are still stressful because it is around 700 a month. I know this is a lot, but I just want to give you all the information so you can pick and choose what to add. Please feel free to add any of your thoughts as well. thanks
