This course’s main objective is to teach you how to understand and conduct research. Your final project is a testament to what you’ve learned throughout the term. The final project involves a study of the people escaping slavery by means of Underground Railroad (UGRR). Your midterm project will prepare you for your final project.
Your midterm will consist of a literature review of the UGRR. The idea is to complete the literature review related to the UGRR. You must use academic resources (Journals, Books, Government resources). Utilize the on-line library resources or use books/journals from the library. You cannot use wikileaks, Wikipedia, ehow, or any other website that is not a government or educational site. Do not confuse a literature review with a book report. If you are confused on this, please ask me because you will lose points.
The literature review will be at least three pages in length. You will need to use at least 5 sources. For every article or book you wish to use for your midterm you will need to make sure you answer the following in order to receive full credit:
What studies have been conducted on this topic in the past?
What were the findings of these studies?
How were these studies conducted?
Identify any methodological problems with past research
