One of the many reasons to consider fallacies is that through that process we become critical thinkers. Often, there are attempts to persuade people to think, or act in particular ways, and it is important to understand how these modes of persuasion, these arguments, work. Moreover, it is essential to see if these modes of persuasion are sound or not, and thus determine if the corresponding actions or thinking are sound.

With this in mind, please look critically at the world around you and find fallacies. You MAY NOT use internet sources.
Discover fifteen (15) different examples of fallacious argument.
It is possible to use each fallacy a maximum of twice (ad hominem abusive and ad hominem circumstantial will each count as separate types of fallacy), but you do not have to.
Please use fallacies from text based (speeches, articles, etc) documents at least 25% (roughly) of the time. This means a minimum of four of the fifteen fallacies must come from text based sources.

For magazines, newspapers, and such you may simply scan fallacies, and include it in the project. For fallacies elsewhere, take a photograph (jpg) to include.

In addition to providing a copy of the example, please complete a “Fallacy Form” for each. The form is available on Brightspace, in the “Fallacy Project” area.

Please type all work using proper grammar.
