For this discussion, you will use the demographic variables that you reported on last week. For each of these variables, you will conduct the appropriate correlational analysis with at least one other variable from the Programs Outcomes Data Base that is related to your specific program. It is recommended that you conduct correlational analysis on two variables that are at the interval level or higher so that you can just interpret Pearson’s r measure of association. Using APA format for reporting statistics, report the results of your correlations. Then, provide the interpretation and conclusion based on the strength of the relationship. Attach a copy of the actual analysis (EXCEL Spreadsheet file) to the discussion post.

Good work on your post. To start, please write your results in APA for each test. There is a link showing the proper format in the announcements. Good try interpreting the results. In order to conduct a Pearson r, both variables must have a linear relationship and continuous variables (see this link:
As one variable’s score goes up or down, the other variable will do the same. Is this true if your variables are NOT continuous? If your variables are not continuous, what test should you be conducting? Finally, how did you determine the strength and direction of the relationship for each test?

Engaging in self-reflection and self-awareness exercises to pinpoint our areas of bias is absolutely critical for all social workers. As you have stated, we need “self-reflection to help do away with the colonialists’ notions and mentality”.
Self-awareness in the reflective process allows the social worker to make more sense of particular experiences – critical experiences, disorienting dilemmas. It allows for better understanding of complex issues, it strengthens our capacity for understanding the perceptions of others and deepens empathy (Grace, Casey & Mohr, 2017). The application of self-awareness and reflective work to the social workers skill set as they engage with individuals, families, groups and communities is critical towards their ability to hold and use experiences and knowledge around the impact of ideological stances. Self-awareness and reflective capacity inform our actions and reactions. Thank you for raising this issue.
