The wealthy and high status individuals, who are part of privileged communities and attend private schools, keeping their advantages by making sure their children receive a high-quality education. While some certain groups who are often from lower social backgrounds face difficulties that lead to their disadvantaged status in society.
When I talk about school choice, it’s often used as a solution to improve education. However, if we look at it from a Conflict Theory view, we can see that it can allow those who already have power to gain even more power. Wealthy families have an advantage in managing the education system to get better opportunities, while disadvantaged communities face difficulties.
