Submit a rough draft for your research paper. Use the research paper rubric and biography outlines under Learning Materials to focus your efforts.
You are working on a rough draft for this module. Here is what to do.
1. Look at the Biography Outline template directly underneath Assignments.
2. Download the template and answer the questions. Then submit this outline to me as your rough draft. It will serve as a way to gather your ideas and quotations as preparation for the final copy of the essay.
3. The outline is your rough draft. You can add a thesis statement if you like. You may submit a regular rough draft if you wish, but I prefer the outline.
4. Remember that in the final paper you must use quotations from at least two of the SOURCES you researched. This is not the same as two quotes from one source. You many use as many quotes as you need. This is, after all, a research paper. NOTE: The quotations do not have to be what the author himself has said. The quotations can be what has been said about the author by someone else, i.e. your research sources. You may use more than two sources if you wish. You may even add sources. If you add sources, be sure to put them on your Works Cited page which will be submitted with your final copy. Do not submit another Annotated Bibliography. You do not need to use quotations in the rough draft outline, but noting where you might do so is acceptable. You can also insert the quotations if you wish.
To elaborate:
You will need a minimum of 2 sources with at least one quote from each source. I would think that you will need at least one quote per paragraph. This is a research paper. The purpose is for you to document your research. If you use facts that an ordinary person would not know about one of the authors, then you must cite that fact. If you use the same source for all information in one paragraph and all the quotes are from the same page, then you can have one quote for that paragraph. If you have multiple sources within one paragraph, then use multiple internal citations. It depends on your paper. Cite your research with as many citations as you need to make to write your paper and to avoid plagiarism. It is better to have too many citations than not enough.

Reminder: The research paper is based on one of the authors we have read this semester, using at least two of the sources you researched for your Annotated Bibliography. If you need a refresher on details, review the Annotated Bibliography instructions.
