Choose a unit TED Talk from our D2L content and watch it. In 300-500 words explain how this talk relates to the material of the unit, what facts vs opinions were discussed, as well as your thoughts on the topic. You will need to be sure that you are stating new information for the discussion. To aid you in that each unit has several TED talks to choose from to ensure the conversation does not become redundant. See the assignment document for more grading detail and a grading rubric. Plagiarized writing will not receive credit.
Choose to watch and complete this assignment for one of the posted TED Talks for this unit. Then go to the unit discussion thread and in 300-500 words explain how this talk relates to the material of the unit. What were the facts vs opinions discussed in this talk? What do you think about the topic discussed in this talk? Do you agree with the speaker? Why or why not? Be sure that you are stating something new compared to your peers that have already done this assignment. That means that you will need to read through their posts to be sure that you are stating something in a different way or adding something new to the discussion. This also means that it would be wise to do this assignment earlier and look to comment on one of the TED Talks that has less posts already added to from your classmates (this is why I have multiple TED Talks – so there are more to choose from and ensure there are unique and different things you can add to the discussion). Looking up related information would be a good way to add something new to the discussion. This will be worth 20 points.
You will also be responsible for responding to one of your classmate’s posts regarding a different TED Talk than your post from above. Your comments should be at least 60 words and needs to add to the discussion. This will be worth 5 points.
Discussion posts and responses must be written in your own words (required length not to include long quotes). Work will be checked for plagiarism and plagiarized work will not receive credit. For more on plagiarism, see our course syllabus or D2L. * Be sure to cite the source of any information researched (MLA or APA format)
