The final paper is an opportunity for you to bring together all the concepts you have learned about in the past few weeks. Your study of Global Healthcare has exposed you to a variety of different systems of healthcare delivery. As you explored healthcare delivery in other countries, you have been exposed to a variety of cultures and socio-economic factors that affect health care. We have also explored the health insurance issues in the United States and have focused on health insurance reform that has come about as a result of the Affordable Care Act.
For your final assignment you are being asked to design a wellness program for a biotechnology company, which employs approximately 600 people. The population of employees is diverse in terms of cultural background, religion, age, and socio-economic status. The top executives of the company are very interested in putting together a comprehensive healthcare program for their employees. You are to begin by designing a wellness program that addresses the diverse needs of this population.
In addition to developing a wellness program, you are going to help the executives decide on the type of insurance plans they want to offer to their employees. The type of program that you will suggest will complement the wellness program that is being addressed. After you research a number of insurance plans, you will present two options to the company that best meets most of their needs. Knowing that no plan will meet all of their needs, you will suggest ways that the employer can help to meet the needs that an insurance plan cannot.
In addition to the written content, you will include diagrams that outline the insurance programs you are presenting to the employer.
