Assignment 4 is an introduction to AutoCAD and computer aided design. You will use the visualization skills learned in chapter 2 and 3 and apply that to drafting in AutoCAD. Read chapter 4 and review the chapter 4 power points. Watch all the videos for chapter 4 as well.
At the end of the power point Part 4, there are assignments. Complete exercises 4.1 thru 4.7 (including 4.3, the guest cottage). Exercises 4.8 thru 4.12 are extra credit. There are videos for all required assignments (4.1 thru 4.7) as well to give further instruction on how to complete.
It is important to go thru Part 1 thru Part 3 power points as well as watch the videos for Intro to AutoCAD, Draw Commands, Modify Commands and Osnap Tools before completing the drawings assigned to become familiar with the software. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO COMPLETE THIS ASSIGNMENT. THERE WILL BE NO EXTENSION.
This is a large chapter and a lot to learn if you have never used AutoCAD before. Make sure you manage your time wisely to get thru all the content and assignments.
The videos are in the ZIP folder. You will need to download the folder and unzip the contents to your computer to view. The correct order of the videos is:
A. Introduction to AutoCAD
B. Draw command videos
C. Modify command videos
D. Osnap command videos
E. Chapter 4 Drawing Projects
I have also uploaded the needed Prototype drawing files that are needed to complete the exercises. These are .DWG files and are to be used as required in the power points.
Once you have completed your drawings, plot them to a PDF file in the correct sheet size and upload here. In addition, upload the DWG file here as well.
THIS ASSIGNMENT WILL BE DUE MONDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2023. THIS IS A FULL 2 WEEKS TO COMPLETE 7 DRAWINGS AND 4 EXTRA CREDIT DRAWINGS IF YOU CHOOSE TO COMPLETE THEM. THE EXTRA CREDIT DRAWINGS WILL BE WORTH 25 POINTS EACH.
