What questions my essay should answer:
Chisholm talks about “first truths of facts” and “first truths of reasons.” In abstract terms, explain what makes these facts and reasons “first truths,” according to Chisholm. Then, provide an example of a first truth of fact and an example of a first truth of reason. Ackerman describes two paradoxes of analysis, each involving a pair of propositions that appear to be synonymous but that differ in an important way. For each paradox, what is that important difference between the propositions? Then, make up your own example of a pair that illustrates the second paradox and say why it fits. Wiggins presents a puzzle involving a cat, “Tibbles,” and that same cat but without a tail, “Tib.” Explain what the puzzle is, given Principle S*. How does Wiggins propose to resolve the puzzle?
