Consider a recently completed team project—at school—and address the team’s ability to perform using Eric Verzuh’s(the fast forward mba in project management attached pdf file) High-Performance Team Framework (Chapter 13; Figure 13.1 on p.274). Please read from the beginning of chapter 13 up to p.274 to have a better understanding of figure 13.1 team framework as they explain it more in details.
For each of the sub-elements and characteristics in the Positive Team Environment and Collaborative Problem Solving components, as well as the Leadership component, analyze how the elements were addressed (or not) throughout the project.
Rather than just stating the facts of how the project unfolded, think critically as to how each element was managed and why the organization, project leader or project team handled the issue as they did. For example, if team norms were not explicitly addressed, why not?
Comment on the Stages of Team Development model (i.e., forming, storming, norming, and performing) and whether the team followed the model. Again, consider the reasons why the team or didn’t.
Based on your analysis of the project team’s journey and the elements of Verzuh’s model, what general lessons learned did you draw from the experience?
Finally, the overall presentation of your paper should be clear and concise, free of spelling and grammatical errors, and be pleasing to view. Use of formatting tools such as sub-headers to break up the paper into relevant sections and bold or italics font helps the reader to identify the key concepts (e.g., the elements of Verzuh’s model).
Your paper should include:
A) A short description of the project (and its outcome),
B) The analysis of the project team relative to Verzuh’s framework (sub-elements, characteristics, and components) and
C) Discussion of whether or not the team followed the team development model
D) Short discussion of project/team leadership
E) General lessons learned / take-away(s)
