1.Social Justice Issue Statement:  In one complete sentence, state a current social justice issue that concerns you the most. Make sure to not state your issue too broadly. For example, if focusing on a social justice issue involving education you would state it correctly like this: I am most concerned with the unequal access to quality education in the U.S, instead of, I am most concerned with education inequality. 2.Social Justice Issue Descriiption and Background:  Thoroughly describe your social justice issue. To do this correctly, find relevant information on the issue you are focusing on from at least two valid and credible sources (see module page on valid and credible sources) to help you do the following in at least 8 sentences:
2a. Explain the problem and provide background information and ample details like related and relevant historical events, important data and facts, anything to fully understand it and its impact on society.
2b. Provide the Web links or full reference(s) of where you found your information below this response. Make sure they are from valid and credible sources (the links are not included as part of your minimum 8 sentences requirement). 
Make sure to address all of the above for item #1 and #2.
3.Current Event:  Find a current event (this is a news story/incident story, not informational piece, that occurred within the last five years) that relates to your chosen social justice issue, then complete the following in at least 8 sentences:
3a. Summarize the event. Clearly address the details of the story: who, what, where, when, why/how. 
3b. Analyze your news story, then provide a full, detailed explanation of what this current event reveals about the social problem you are focusing on. To do this correctly, seek out the implications hidden behind the details of the story then, explain what you discovered. Make sure to not repeat the details of the story for this part.  
3c. Include the Web link to your current event source below your response (this is not included as part of your minimum 8 sentences requirement) .
Extra Credit Opportunity: Provide the above in at least 5 sentences for another current event related to your chosen social justice issue.
Make sure to address all of the above items, #3a, 3b, 3c.
4.Social Movements:  Search for social organizations, social movements, or political policies that are trying to address your chosen social issue. Then complete the following in at least 8 sentences:
4a.  Thoroughly describe one social organization, social movement, or political policy that you found. Include how and when it began, what they do and want to do, who is behind it, and other important information to fully describe it. 
4b.  Give an evaluation of it’s effectiveness in improving the social issue. Provide details of specific accomplishments and/or data that demonstrates their level of effectiveness. Provide your own suggestions to improve the social organization, social movements, or political policies you found to address your social problem better.
4c.  Below your response, include a Web link of the social organization, social movement, or political policy where you obtained above information (this is not included as part of your minimum 8 sentences requirement) . 
Part 3
Provide the above information and evaluation in at least 5 sentences for an additional social organization, social movement, or political policy.
Make sure to address all of the above items, #4a, 4b, 4c.
5.You and the Issue:  In at least 6 sentences, explain why this social justice issue is most concerning to you. Include real-world and current examples to support your ideas. Also, based on all that you learned about this issue, specifically explain what you can see yourself doing to help.
