Must Read Everything:
Reply to at least two classmate’s posts, applying the RISE Model for Meaningful Feedback
I will also show an example below of how the response needs to be addressed.
Here’s an example of how the response should look. Please don’t copy it.
The response to the classmate need to be just like this.
Example Response (Response Needs to be writen just like the response below No copying)
RISE Feedback:
REFLECT: I concur with “Action plans should reflect the type of services that are needed and have an idea of the expected outcome of the services” because it is in line with Hatch and Hartline’s intentional school counseling guidelines in regards to determining students needs.
INQUIRE: Can you further explain what “closing-the-gap action plans” are?
SUGGEST: I encourage you to revisit Hatch and Hartline’s MTMDSS tier interventions in order to add a citation that would illustrate your example on bullying prevention efforts.
ELEVATE: What if you re-purposed “For example, after a needs assessment, the school is having problems with bullying” as “Following Trish Hatch’s MTMDSS tier based interventions, if the school is having problems with bullying, after a needs assessment, we could… citation…”  for a more weighted argument?

Below are the two classmate discussion post that you will need to respond to
Classmate Response 1- Bianca
Describe your experiences with 504 Plans and/or IEPs.
My experience with 504 plans and IEP, is minimal. I hope to in the future learn more about it, but so far the experience that I have with IEP’s is that I have sat in them to translate so I know how long, the process and how it works. I have not been there present with the before planning like setting goals and what area the student needs the support. I have sat in a team called the student success team, in this meeting the concerns are discussed and what is needed and what goals can be made, if a student has been in the SST process for to long then they move to assessment. There is some parents that request that an assessment be started immediately. That is when they start the process to hold an IEP, but of course there is still goals that are set in place to make sure there is support while the assessments are being done and they hold the first IEP. I have not sat in a 504 but have heard about it, from what I understood the student does not need an IEP but might just need accommodations to support meanwhile. I hope to learn more in that area this school year.

An area I would like to explore further
This week I learned about CALPADS. We sat with Admin and looked over the grad rates for our district. The range was 100 to 93% from High school to continuation. What brings the percent drop outs, 5th year students, CHSPE, or lost. The data was shown in each of these subjects for all schools. The data is important  as it shows  discrepancies, thus where to put supports in place. For example, if you see there’s a lot of 5th year kids we can look at commonalities and then put resources to avoid that gap.
With that said, I like to explore how  I can play with data. I took stats years ago. I think an advance excel course would help me. I want to be able to maneuver data to look at exactly what I’m looking for. I also think just having the experience of playing with data would help me be more skillful in that area.
