Purpose
The purpose of this assignment is to connect the academic preparation of WMU Family Science program majors (Child and Family Development, Family Studies, Youth and Community Development) to the range of professional opportunities and specializations found within the field of Family Science. This is the first step of a multi-part exploration that will extend over multiple modules.
Instructions
In this module, you will be exploring different careers in the Family Science field. Use this opportunity to discover the different jobs you can enjoy with a degree in Family Science and Human Development!
You will be choosing six different careers in Family Science (from at least three different employment categories) based on Module 1 content/resources (e.g., Career Opportunities for Family Life Educators, Exploring Careers link, and the NCFR Careers booklet)
STEP 1: Identify the appropriate number of employment categories (at least three) and careers (six).
STEP 2: Create a document that lists:
Each family science-related career
The larger family science employment category that the career falls within
A short reflection how the career may align with your choice of major, your academic interests, and your personal and professional experiences to date.
