Your paper must meld the concepts from the book chapters with the real-life experiences of one of the characters written in Barbara’s book. Barbara’s book is rich in detail about the everyday lives of the struggling poor from health care to childcare to discrimination financial decision making with the realities of her declining savings. Finally, you will address the hardships and realities of life for the struggling and working poor. You will be a social worker soon, prepared to work on the micro (linking individuals with available resources), mezzo (counseling families in distress, possibly due to economic hardships, if practicing at the licensed MSW level), & macro (addressing the systemic impact on health & lack of equity) and this assignment will help you understand the need for, & see the avenues of, advocacy at each level.
