The purpose of this assignment is to develop a personal nursing philosophy. A philosophy of nursing is a statement, sometimes written, that declares a nurse’s beliefs, values, and ethics regarding their care and treatment of patients while they are in the nursing profession. A philosophy statement is a foundation for growth. For this assignment, first, select an image/photo that represents what the profession of nursing means to you. Include this image on the second page of the paper. The image needs to be cited according to APA guidelines. The image reference does not count as one of the three references. The first page should be a title page in APA format. Second, write a paper, a 500-word limit (approximately 2 pages), describing how the image relates to your personal philosophy of nursing in YOUR OWN WORDS. Each page should have 3 or 4 complete paragraphs, each paragraph written in complete sentences. Third, include a reference page, with a minimum of three sources, written in APA format (see below). Upload and submit your assignment (as a PDF file format only) through Canvas. Font requirements: Times New Roman, 12 point, double-spaced. Use a minimum of three references. What are important values to uphold and what mistakes or weaknesses should be avoided or limited? What do I want to achieve in my nursing career? What are my responsibilities and commitments to patients, families, and communities? Are there other things to consider? For example, relationships with colleagues, how to better oneself, educational opportunities, research, or the environment of care?
