The goal of this week’s assignment is to provide a detailed description of the variables and measurements that you would include in your study. These represent the data you would acquire to address your research question, so you will need to be very specific in order to complete the assignment! This is a key task involved in clinical research design.
In your paper please complete the following tasks:
1.Define the primary exposure variable(s) and measurement(s)
2.Define the primary outcome variable and measurement
3.Define the descriptive covariates and measurements you would collect to describe your sample
Remember, these descriptive covariates typically include physical characteristics such as age, baseline PaO2/FiO2, etc
4.Describe each measurement using the vocabulary from the reading/slideshow (e.g: “I would collect age as a continuous variable”, “I would include feed-type as a dichotomous variable (breast feed/formula feed)”
