Instructions
Log into GDPLinks to an external site.
Click Timed Writings button
Select Other
Click Supplementary Timings
Choose Supplementary Timed Writing 1
Click on “3-minute” from the screen appears to choose your minutes. Be sure to have the right timing or it will score all errors.
Open your textbook to Page SB-26
Take the timing at least two times. You may take the timing more than two times, but twice is the minimum. The timer begins when you strike the first key.
Before keying the passage, read the instructions on the left side of your Screen.
Your gross words per minute must be at least 18 with no more than 3 errors (one error per minutes typed). Keep retaking the timing until you reach at least 18 words per minute. Consider that more than 3 errors, your work will not be graded.
Your best timed writing will be graded per the grading scale on this page.
Two words per minute (wpm) are deducted from the speed for each error; for example, if you have 3 errors, I would deduct 6 from the speed (3 errors times 2 wpm).
Only one error per minute is allowed for grading. If you have 4 errors, a 3-minute timing would not be graded because the result would have more than 3 errors.
Check your GDP Portfolio to be sure you are meeting or exceeding the speed and accuracy goal.
After you have successfully completed this assignment in GDP, return to Canvas and write a quick one-line statement telling me it is ready to be graded. Please let me know which attempt to grade (your best attempt), as you might have taken multiple timings. Thank-you!
