Throughout this course, you will develop a strategic plan. The first step in building your plan is to decide what organization you will spend the course researching. This assignment is an opportunity for you to research, read, review, study, and select an organization that is important to you.
Keep the following in mind as you choose an organization:
– Choose an organization that you will enjoy learning more about (preferably an organization that is associated with the “Homeland Security Enterprise” at large). The security agencies’ strategic plans are available at (https://www.hsdl.org/c/).
– Choose an organization that will benefit you in the future (an organization that you currently work for, maybe an organization you are interested in working for, or an organization that is important to your current or future studies in Homeland Security).
– The organization you choose today will be used for the remainder of the course.
– When choosing the organization, ensure that there is enough additional information available to complete an analysis and develop a strategic plan. Most of the current strategic plan documents for government agencies (i.e., FEMA, USSS, CISA, TSA, ODNI) cover all required information.
Once you select your organization, use the resources from this module to help you answer the following questions; this will allow you to begin exploring your chosen strategic plan.
– Identify the organization’s Vision, Mission, and Values.
– Identify strategic goals.
– Identify strategic objectives to reach one of the strategic goals.
– Identify the strategic issues the organization is facing.
Your report must contain these prompts and be free of spelling and grammar mistakes.
Submit your evaluation summary in a word processing document. Using the current APA Style, your evaluation should be double-spaced with a minimum of 300-500 words (excluding the title and reference pages).
