When it comes to rehabilitation and reintegration into society, ethical decision-making involves considering what is best for the justice-involved individual, the community at large, and the criminal justice system as a whole. Locate a recent case involving complex factors where a judge made a ruling that a juvenile could be tried as an adult.

1)Management choices, particularly those made by judges, have far-reaching consequences for everybody engaged in the criminal justice system, including offenders, victims, and communities. Determining whether a juvenile criminal should be prosecuted as an adult is a crucial topic that requires ethical decision-making. This answer will analyze a recent case with similar elements, focusing on the judge’s ethical challenges at the preliminary custody hearing. In a recent example, a juvenile criminal was accused of committing a heinous act that resulted in the death or severe injury of innocent people. There was discussion on whether the minor should be prosecuted as an adult and subjected to possibly heavier punishments because of the nature and severity of the crime.The offender’s age and level of cognitive and moral development is an important ethical concern. When taking into account a juvenile’s lack of maturity and maturity level, the issue of whether or not to trial them as adults arises. Juvenile justice’s primary focus is on rehabilitation, whereas the adult criminal justice system is frequently guided by the ideals of deterrence and punishment.
2)A very compelling case is being tried out of Memphis, Tennessee regarding three young men ages 15,16,17. These three young men are accused of murdering a woman during an attempted robbery. The 15 year old, Miguel Andrade, has been out on bail for over a year awaiting his trial. There was plenty of speculation when the court decided to try Me. Andrade as an adult, but allow him out in bail to attend school among his peers, being a charged murderer put plenty of people in an uproar. The most recent reporting from Fox 13 on July 25th, 2023 that Andrade bond was revoked and that he would be staying in Child services until his trial is completed. One of the other accomplices in the murder pleaded guilty and will stay in child detention services until 19 where they will transfer into an adult facility. To find hard details on this case I found to be quite difficult, I was very confused by each young man getting different bond releases and adult and juvenile charges, if the three committed the crime, they need to do the time.
