You are contracted to provide a private security plan for a small convenience store/gas station that is undergoing a new owner update and remodel. This is a recently acquired, older facility that maintains four gas pumps with a convenience store and working deli. The deli maintains a working cash register with two additional registers near the front entrance.
The store is located on a half-acre lot close to an interstate entrance ramp. Store security is a major concern for the new owners due to a police call history including numerous reports of shoplifting, minor parking lot crimes, and employee theft, when operated by the previous owner. The previous cases typically remained unsolved by the police due to lack of evidence and leads, an additional concern for the new owners.
There is a large volume of both vehicle and pedestrian traffic at this location that has made this not only a prime business location, but also an opportunity for crime.
You are to prepare a presentation to present to the stores management group to discuss security strategies that could be implemented during the remodeling period to address security concerns. Approach this presentation with recommendations, assuming that there are currently no security plans or technologies in use.
Create a 10–15-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation (excluding the title and reference slide) that applies critical thinking to construct persuasive arguments on the following:
Address the following points in your presentation:
Include at least four or more components of a private-security plan addressing historical and current concerns.
Describe your private-security plan addressing both internal and external security threats.
Identify the types of technology that will be used and how it will be utilized in the implementation of the plan.
Discuss how the plan will be carried out regarding employee training and store policy.
This assignment will require outside research. Use at least two credible sources beyond the textbook. You may consult the online Library, the internet, the textbook, other course materials, and any other outside resources in supporting your task, using proper citations in APA style.
