Instructions:
Chose only one of the following chapters from Holts Text Crime Online: Correlates, causes and Context and read it:
Chapter 2- Hacker Woodstock: Observations on an Offline Cyber Culture at a Chaos Communication camp
Chapter 4 – Social Engineering as a Form of Fraud Mediated Through Communications Technology
Chapter 6 – Internet Child Pornography: Legal Issues and Investigative Tactics
Chapter 8– Understanding Cyber Interpersonal Use
The purpose of this paper is to
Ensure you understand and can appraise certain special topics and issues in cybercrime and the research that has been carried out on that special topic.
Understand how to critically analyze and conduct research using other resources like peer reviewed articles, books etc., to support your analyses of that topic.
Ensure that students understand current research about a particular issue in cybercrime especially as cybercrimes are based on new and emerging use of information and communications technology (ICTs).
Your paper should include the following information:
A brief summary of the chapter
A brief literature review
A thorough analysis and evaluation of the chapter you have chosen based on current literature. What are current scholars saying about this topic? Use at least 5 (current- published 2010 to date, peer reviewed articles in your analysis. Remember you can choose to use as many resources as possible, the more articles you use, the better your analysis. This analysis and evaluation should include:
Current policies regarding this special topic
What if any laws/policies govern your special topic of choice? Policies could include international policies, consider jurisdiction in your policy analysis. How do other nations control this special area/topic you have chosen?
Finally what do you think the future policy implications are, with regards to the information in this chapter? In other words, what policy or policies do you think may evolve from the issues addressed in this chapter? You should use other scholars and current research to inform your policy evaluation.

Paper formatting guidelines
Use APA for citation, format and referencing, and for overall writing style
Paper length – minimum 4 pages but not necessarily more than 6 pages – double spaced (not counting references and cover page). If you have more than 6 pages no problem, but limit to 10 pages. But you must have at least 4 pages.
Minimum 5 peer reviewed articles properly cited and referenced using APA
Peer reviewed articles used for the analysis have to be current, published from 2010 to date (no articles published before 2010)
