This is your assignment for Paper # 1–Pre-suasion, not Persuasion. Go to Youtube and find a video about Pre-suasion. This is another topic idea advanced by my friend Robert Cialdini. In fact, he wrote a book about the idea. Pre-suasion is the practice of preparing your audience for what you want to convince them about. Be careful, don’t look for Persuasion, look for Pre-suasion (the hyphen in the word is important). Your goal is to recognize and write about several scenarios or situations where you may have been pre-suaded (not persuaded).
Did you know this was happening? Were you aware of it? Did it change your mind? Think of pre-suasion as the warm-up act at a concert, that is, what happens before the main performer comes on stage.
