If someone were to ask you what you learned from the last book or movie you enjoyed, you would undoubtedly produce a summary of sorts, recalling main points. The purpose of doing a summary is to give an informative and efficient overview of a source’s main points. Metaphorically, summarizing is like squeezing a fruit to extract its juice.
Assignment:
Choose one video from The Story of Stuff Project and then write a five hundred word summary of that source. Identify and present the source’s primary argument and main supporting points, directing your summary toward imagined readers who are unfamiliar with your source. Utilize paraphrase and quotation in MLA style while carefully avoiding plagiarism.
Drafting Guidelines
Double space the entire paper and include an MLA heading. Use 12pt. font.
