(For the annotated bibliography) For this week, write a short abstract on the topic of your research paper. It should be about a paragraph long and present the question that you want to answer as well as the thesis statement you believe you are going to argue as of this point. In addition you need to include an annotated bibliography. This should include four or so sources that you have looked at for your paper. They should be properly cited using MLA (or Chicago Manual of Style) citations and include a sentence or two about what they are about. You must include at least one primary source and at least one scholarly source (a source from a peer reviewed journal or a source that is an academic book). You must include which are which in your description of the source.
(For the Research paper):Write a research paper on a topic of your choice from ancient Greece or Rome (if you want to pick something adjacent like Egypt, come to me with the topic first). As a research paper, it should cite sources used and should use a diverse number and type of scholarly sources sources (avoid places like Wikipedia).
Remember, your paper should present a point of view, make an argument. It should not just be a descriptive essay. As such, be careful when choosing a topic to make it specific enough to where you can cover it in this small research paper. Remember to include an introduction with a clear thesis statement and a concluding paragraph.
