I would like to use our discussion forum to discuss a work of art of your selection from the readings this week.

Please complete the following instructions in preparation for answering the discussion question:
Select a work of art. You may use an example from your readings or online videos. Please just make sure to document the object you are describing by including the name, period, and material used to create the object i.e. sculpture, marble early Renaissance. Once you have selected a work of art that interests you answer one of the following two questions:
1. What are some possible functions of this object? For example, would it have been placed in a church or was it created for private consumption? Your post should include at least three examples of vocabulary from the week 2-3 handout.
2. Describe the appearance of the object. What can we say about the use of color, line, form, and overall design? What appeals to you about this piece? Your post should include at least three examples of vocabulary from the week 2-3 handout.
