week-2
Follow the outline provided in the template to develop reasons for and against moving into the country that your group selected. Be sure to include any unconscious bias’s that may be found in the group as well as cultural differences. You may also look at the way you feel other stakeholders in your organization view this country. Each group member should add at least 2 unique statements for moving the factory to the country selected.
Each member will also add at least two statements against moving the factory to the country selected. Be careful no to repeat what another group member has already added. You can use sources such as Culture GramsLinks to an external site. and Global Edge (Links to an external site.) for your research. After you have considered the input from all group members, write a proposal that details why your group has selected that country, what bias’s against that country (conscious or unconscious) that members of the group may have, and affirmations that detail why opening a factory in this country would be a good move for your company.
week-3
Now that you have a good understanding of why your company wants to set up a factory in the selected country and your initial proposal has been accepted by upper management, your group is ready to do more thorough research in order to help develop a strategy for moving into that country. Each group member should select 3 items to research about the country. There should not be duplicates in the items researched. You can get ideas of what you might want to research by reviewing the 10 cultural value dimensions in Chapter 5 of the Leading With Cultural Intelligence text. You are not limited to these, but it is highly recommended that you at least include some, if not all, of them. It may be useful to assign specific items to each group member to avoid duplicate answers. After you have considered all of the research by your team, each group member should write detail one challenge that your company may face in this country. Be sure you are not duplicating what another team member has discussed. The version history in Google Document will be checked to ensure you have not added your section without reviewing work from another student.
week -4
Based on your findings in Weeks 2 and 3, your group will need to develop some strategies for moving into the country that was selected. Each group member should come up with 3 strategies for working with people in the new location. These may include things like who speaks first in a meeting to who would pay for a meal. These should be tailored and respectful to the culture of the country you are moving into. You should also include the importance of each strategy. Once all group members have added their strategy, each group member should a potential plan of action based on what they feel was the most important strategy defined. Each person will need to explain the importance of implementing the plan of action. Do not duplicate what another group member has already written. The version history of the Google Document will be checked to ensure you have not added your section without reviewing work from another student.
The country we choose was Germany.
