Hi Friend,
1.) Your strongest point was on mental health and two areas of strength were your tone and how well articulated your speech was! The tone of voice felt very conversational and nonjudgemental – which therefore made me want to listen to you even more! I also appreciated how smooth and well-articulated your speech was; the flow was faultless and you didn’t stutter or use any “um’s”, etc. so great job for that! It helped your ethos and credibility as you painted the picture that you really knew what you were talking about!
2.) Something I would like to emulate was how you left your speech, it was motivating, it was interesting/intriguing, and left me wanting to search up more about exercise and its effects.
3.) I think one of your weakest points might have been that exercise provides a remarkable variety of health benefits… which also leads to one area of improvement. Although your speech had a nice flow, it lacked structure which made it hard to follow. I couldn’t decipher what your topic was and the topic of each argument until I looked at your outline. Next time make sure that you’re making it clear the structure of your speech like how you made it clear in your outline! Something that also stood out to me was how often you looked down; maybe it was just the camera position, but the number of times you looked down was a little distracting (although I am completely guilty of that as well). I think that might be a simple fix with practice and maybe a change in camera perspective!
Overall though, it was a great speech and I absolutely loved how conversational you sounded. You are a natural public speaker, making your audience really feel involved within the conversation!! Good Job dude!
all the instructions required for this post will be down below, i will provide the same instructions that i was given by my professor.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Reaction Replies (Reply to 4): by day/time noted in course schedule
Being a friend, please listen & reply to 4 peer speeches (2 who posted before you & 2 who posted after you; if your first to post, respond to 4 after; if your last to post, respond to 4 prior).
After listening to each speaker, please write them post in which you meaningfully reflect on their presentation, drawing insight into their speech.
first, please identify 2 areas of strengths within their presentation (e.g., organization of content; captivating attention grabber; passionate delivery; demonstrated credibility; was passionate; showed sincere emotion; demonstrated clear in-depth understanding; well organized logic; had a smooth conversational voice; used vocal variety; included smooth transitions between points; thoughtful reasoning; ended with memorable close, etc.).
next, explain how you would like to emulate one of their strengths into a future speech of your own.
then, please identify 2 opportunities for improvement (e.g., conversational delivery, tone of voice, organizational structure, nonverbal delivery; more eye contact; less reading off notes; need to clearly label main points; extend use of voice; use a more captivating attention grabber; adhere to a clearer organizational structure; extend nonverbal delivery, etc) that could help them grow for future public presentations.
after, drawing from one of the opportunities for improvement you have identified, explain how you believe they could work to practice and turn this area for growth into potential for strength!
finally, end with something nice to say to the speaker (e.g., a closing thought on what you learned from their speech; thank them for sharing; provide a message of encouragement etc.).
