What are three techniques that you think are essential to good legal writing, and for each of these techniques, what is one example of a sentence that applies the technique?

Three techniques that are essential to good legal writing is to use short sentences for complex thoughts, removing unnecessary words, use everyday language. When trying to express complex thoughts, try using shorts sentences so that the reader can understand easier. If a writer tries to go deep into detail in one sentence, you more more likely to lose the reader in the complex thoughts. For example, “I like to bake.” is easier to read than “I like to bake but I only like to do it when I have all the ingredients.”. Removing unnecessary words is important as well because it adds additional words that do not help the point of the sentence. Without unnecessary words, a reader can read a sentence and get more information out of it without adjectives. For example, “I like the hat.” sounds better than “I like that purple hat with shinny rhinestones.”. The first sentence has just the right amount of information for the reader to understand what is being talked about without knowing the details that do not matter. The final essential technique for legal writing is to use everyday language. Using everyday language is best to use so reader can understand what you are trying to say. If a writer tries to talk impressive, the reader may be confused of what they are trying to say. For example, “The girl read the book yesterday.” sounds better than “The young girl analyzed the text the day before today.”.
