Step-by-Step Tutor Guide
Step 1: Carefully Read the Discussion Prompt
Before writing, identify exactly what the prompt is asking. Look for directive words such as analyze, discuss, compare, or evaluate so your response stays focused.
Step 2: Plan Your Initial Thread (250+ Words)
Outline your response with a short introduction, 2–3 well-developed body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion. Each paragraph should clearly support your main point.
Step 3: Locate Scholarly Sources Early
Select at least two credible scholarly sources before writing. Use textbooks, peer-reviewed journals, or reputable government and professional websites to strengthen your argument.
Step 4: Integrate Citations Correctly
Incorporate sources naturally into your discussion rather than listing them at the end. Use APA in-text citations and include a reference list when required.
Step 5: Write Thoughtful Peer Replies (100+ Words Each)
When replying, go beyond agreement. Expand on your peer’s ideas, introduce new evidence, ask thoughtful questions, or offer a respectful alternative perspective—supported by at least two scholarly sources.
Step 6: Manage Deadlines Strategically
Post your main thread early in the week to allow classmates time to respond. Plan replies ahead of the Monday (or Friday for Week 8) deadline.
Step 7: Proofread for Clarity and APA Accuracy
Review grammar, word count, tone, and APA formatting before submitting. Clear, well-organized posts make a strong academic impression.
