Final exam Southern Literature

You will need to answer the questions with a topic sentence, provide a quote from the text, and analyze how the evidence supports your topic sentence.   You will be graded on your topic sentence and analysis of the evidence.  You should have 4-5 sentences of analysis for each quote.  Your answers should be derived from my lecture notes.

1. Contrast Evelyn and Idgie.  It should be two separate paragraphs.
2. How is white masculinity represented in Fried Green Tomatoes?
3. Discuss the representation of race in the early to mid-twentieth century in the novel.
4. Discuss how Idgie and Ruth’s relationship is depicted in the novel.
5. How does Evelyn evolve?
6. Discuss the sense of friendship between the white and black families
7. Discuss the representation of gender or sexuality.
