STEP ONE: Selecting your topic – this should have been done last week As a group, I would like you to review existing literature on the topic that your group selected. Links to an external site. STEP TWO: Conducting the literature search Next, each group member must find a few peer-reviewed papers. Then answer the questions below, and discuss and briefly describe findings from only the best five (5) papers. Use the information from these five sources to answer the below questions. Make sections based on the questions below. STEP THREE: Evaluating the literature To analyze the literature, you will use the questions provided in the course text (Section 4, Chapter 17, Pg. 239, Box 17.1). Each paper will be evaluated using these questions, and these reviews will be used in STEP FOUR of the project. STEP FOUR: Interpreting the collected literature In this project’s final step, the group will collectively analyze the paper evaluations and their application: What has been done on your topic in the past ten years? Where is the gap? Are there any mixed or confusing results? If no “mixed results” exist and a precise directional association exists, why are you repeating an already-known fact/association? Overall, in two pages of this paper and to simplify, you should answer these main questions : Why is this health issue important to investigate? – use content from previous assignments. What did the literature say about this topic? – write a summary using data from 5 sources. How can this information be applied to practice? What are some gaps listed in the existing five sources?- your thoughts + content from 5 sources What are the next steps to research this topic? Your paper should be presented in APA paper format (i.e., title page, internal citations, reference page). You do not need to include a table of contents for this short paper. Remember, the purpose of this paper is to explain the past studies concisely and justify the importance of your unique research question. Templates attached for your reference. You can use your own style/format/flow of the paper. The reference page is NOT included in your two pages of a lit review.

Select five of the strongest sources that provide key insights.

Step 3: Evaluating the Literature

Use the questions from Box 17.1 (Section 4, Chapter 17, Pg. 239) in your course text to analyze each study.
Focus on:

- Key findings and conclusions
- Strengths and limitations
- Any inconsistencies or contradictions

Step 4: Interpreting the Collected Literature

Your paper should be structured as follows:

1. Introduction

Briefly introduce the health issue.
Explain why it is important to research.

2. Summary of Literature Findings

Discuss the key findings from the five selected studies.
Highlight relevant statistics, major conclusions, and recurring themes.

3. Application to Practice

How can healthcare professionals use this information?
What are the practical implications of these findings?

4. Identifying Gaps in Research

What limitations or unanswered questions exist in the five sources?
Are there mixed results or missing perspectives?

5. Next Steps in Research

Propose future research directions based on identified gaps.
Suggest new angles, methodologies, or populations to study.

Formatting Your Paper (APA Guidelines)

Title page (with title, student names, course name, instructor name, and date).
Body of paper (2 pages, double-spaced, 12-pt Times New Roman, 1-inch margins).
Internal citations (use APA in-text citations for all sources).
Reference page (not counted in the 2-page limit).

Final Checks Before Submission

Ensure all five sources are cited correctly in APA format.
Keep the analysis concise, clear, and well-structured.
Proofread for grammar and clarity before submitting.
