The aim of this assignment is to assess your ability to test food products, analyse the results and then present the data in a way that informs the general public on the safety of these food products using an infographic.
TASK
You will collect and analyse data on the amount of cyanide in cassava products found on sale in Melbourne. There are two marks for the in class activities (one for each week). You will work in pairs in class but you submit individual assignments.
Week 5: you will analyse the food products in the laboratory.
Week 6: you will analyse the data and be shown how to create graphs in Excel and discuss what makes a meaningful infographic.
Output: You will prepare an infographic, including one graph of your results, suitable for the general public. The results will be interpreted using the guidelines form FSANZ (Food Standards Australia New Zealand) on the safety of cyanide in food products.

Individual assignment. One page submitted as a single PDF.
There is no word limits. Infographics have very few words on them. If you write a lot, this will bring down your grade on the design aspects of the poster.
You must include at least one graph of your results. It does not have to be presented as a traditional scientific graph.
