This understandably will be exploratory and incomplete; However, it serves the purpose of assisting in getting feedback on “setting boundaries” and identifying resources and tools appropriate for your work. Depending on your role in your team’s work plan, you will likely be working with a sub-component of your system of the full system. The objective is for you to provide a succinct and insightful understanding of the key drivers of the challenges within the system and potential tools/methods that may be applied. This is a good first step in helping to define a “solutions landscape” for potential interventions that will inform your systems mapping. Your analysis should be based on the frameworks presented in the course for understanding the drivers of social-ecological systems. Your report must include:
Section 1: A concise description (refined and updated from above) of your stock-flow mapsystem, why your team chose this system, and the challenges it presents.
Section 2: Identification of key factors acting in your system using the SAT method: (1) structural barriers, (2) attitudinal barriers, and (3) the transactional barriers at play. Worksheets with examples are provided under “week 4” on canvas. Please include a discussion regarding around “where key factors exists” in the system, such as what you consider to be important upstream/downstream relationships among the key factors.
Section 3: Select one of the systems complexity tools and provide an example of how it may be applied to an aspect of your system.
