My topic is from the theme Material Culture, something related to Jade in pre-modern and the title is (The Controversial Significance of Jade in Pre-Modern China) -> for example, one controversial topic that has been discussed is the extent of jade’s influence on social hierarchies and power structures.
Some scholars argue that jade played a significant role in reinforcing social hierarchies, with its ownership limited to the elite class. They believe that the display of exquisite jade objects during important events and ceremonies served to emphasize the wealth and prestige of the ruling class, further perpetuating social inequality.
Requirement: Students are required to develop their own research project and submit a written essay of 1000-1500 words (excluding bibliography).
They shall design their own topic on an event, phenomenon or historical figure etc. in pre-
modern Chinese history around any of the following themeIn the written essay of 1000-1500 words, students shall explain the significance of the event, phenomenon or historical figure etc. and formulate a coherent argument based on different interpretations by scholars. The essay shall strictly follow the academic practice, especially the practice of citation where the sources of facts and views shall be provided in footnote citations (maximum 1,000 words). In completing the research project, students shall use and cite published academic books, journal articles or theses; if online sources are used, those are limited to the published works from academic institutions, government departments or academic journals. Unless otherwise agreed by the instructor, students shall not use/cite sources from Wikipedia and other encyclopaedias, blogs, social media, nor content farms. Can you include outline and thesis statement and also Chicago Style citation inside the essay. The essay shouldn’t be too general. This assignment is from my history and Chinese civilisation course which is a gateway education course.
