Can the balanced scorecard and the statement of cash flow be put in the appendices instead of the report body?
Yes, any large exhibit or calculation should be added as an appendix and referenced in your report
For the balanced scorecard, do we only have to list the measurements or also include the objectives. If so, can I add all the information for the 3 divisions in one scorecard/table?
The objectives also need to be included in the balanced scorecard. It′s okay to do one scorecard for all the division as long as it′s clear which points relate to which divisions. I would recommend using a colour code if you decide to do this.
We have noted an error in the Balance Sheet for 2017 (Exhibit 2). The total current liabilities do not sum correctly. Therefore, the Balance Sheet does not balance.
Please ignore the fact that the Balance Sheet is out for 2017 and assume the individual liability accounts are correct.
Do we need to include 3 objectives, 3 measures for all 4 perspectives for each division on the balanced scorecard?
1-2 for each division is fine. We are looking to make sure you understand how to use the balanced scorecard as well as use it in your analysis.
The notes above are added to guide students in the right direction when putting a case response together for Vienna which ties into the course curriculum. Students should leverage the balance scorecard to address the mgmt. issues in Vienna. As well, a cash flow analysis is required when comparing the product proposals. Students should include calculations such as Accounting Rate of Return, Payback Period, IRR, NPV, ROS, ROA, RI, etc.
