The above topic is my literature review topic. I have two potential research questions and I need to present my topic at a meeting. I will attach the requirements below:
You need to have an idea of a research topic you would like to write about in your chosen research field
More specifically you need to:
 Mind map at least 15 academic articles that relate to your topic
 Identify an issue or question within your chosen field
 Prepare a brief explanation (1-2 pages) of why you feel this issue or question is important as a research topic, and which specific research question might be relevant.
– 2 slides of the above to present to the class.
I will also attach the proposal I have already submitted. This is my chosen topic so the direction of my paper should still be close to this. However, I am open to any new and relevant directions in the research that might be more significant or produce better research.
My paper will be a literature review in the field of accounting. Specifically I have chosen financial accounting/reporting as the subtopic.
Lean accounting principles are applied traditionally to the internal management accounting systems or frameworks that a company might use (because it’s applying lean management to accounting to make it more efficient/ less wasteful). I want to see whether lean accounting has an impact on financial reporting, which is used by both internal and external stakeholders. The financial reporting standards I am basing it on ( if at all) would be IFRS (not GAAP).
The impact of implementing lean accounting has already been done for management accounting and efficiency in that sense, however a gap in the research could be related to whether these same lean principles can impact financial reporting too, making it more transparent, more relevant, or more faithful accurate.
This is a brief summary into the direction I want to head towards, however again any relevant information or change in thought process is welcomed in order to make the topic make more sense.
I will use the paper to create a presentation which I will present in front of my class.
What I would need is:
–> 1 page mind map of the articles i want to use in the paper. The mind map would visually show how the articles link to each other and to the topic of Lean accounting and to the topic of financial reporting
–> 1-2 pages of a brief explanation why you feel this issue or question is important as a research topic, and which specific research question might be relevant.
I am not asking for the completed literature review, this is just an initial brainstorming paper that shows why, using articles as references, I think this would be a good topic to pick. I will use this paper to build my presentation and get feedback.
