First you started with identifying a research topic and developing a research question. Then you searched for 5 peer-reviewed research articles to help answer your research question. Now, you will demonstrate your understanding of research methods and the ability to distinguish different study features. All of your five empirical sources should help you answer your research question even if they use different study designs, measurements, and sampling. The rough draft is worth 25 points. You will earn points based on meeting the criteria indicated in the grading rubric below.

Name each of the study designs used in your sources. Define the study design used in each of your sources. Describe any similarities in the study designs. Describe any differences in the study designs. Discuss how the differences in the study designs would influence the study findings. 5 points

Discuss how the differences in the sampling strategies would influence the study findings. Discuss how the differences in target populations would influence the study findings. 5 points
SYNTHESIS (500-600 words)
Start with a topic sentence that introduces your research question. Provide some background information on your topic using your two reputable websites. Provide a high-level overview of how the five sources answer your research question (or if you do not think you they do, then discuss why not).
Synthesize the evidence across your five sources in support of the conclusions. Address any evidence that contradicts each other and explain why you think that is. Describe at least one strength and at least two limitations of the conclusions you can draw for your research question based on your five sources and explain why. Think about what information is still missing or what biases you are not sure have been addressed yet. Wrap up your synthesis so that it ends with a clear takeaway based on prior sections. 10 points
