American Educational History What’s the Most Important?
Overview: This Web-based lesson plan is designed to introduce you to key events in the history of American education as you explore an educational history timeline and choose events you believe to be the most important. Procedure: Go to American Educational History Timeline – Eds-resources.com and read. Click on links to additional information regarding events you believe are interesting and/or important. Your assignment is to choose the five events included in the timeline that you believe are the most important in the history of American education. “Important” is defined as events having the greatest impact on American society. Rank/order your choices for the five events (with the most important event as #1 at the top of the list). Write a short paragraph about each event you choose that briefly describes it and explains why it is important.
