Semester Project: Business Plan Requirements
For this course, you will be ‘starting’ a business of your choice! Generally, a business plan is created by the business owner in order to determine if a business idea and venture will be viable. For your semester project, you will be creating a Business Plan for a start-up business that you’ve selected. Be sure to review the criteria for your selection in the Business Plan Criteria document here and below. As we progress through the semester, each of the chapters and assignments that we cover will directly address the topics in your Business Plan. Your Business Plan can be used to secure financing from investors as well as be used as a management tool for your start-up business.
This project is worth 30% of your semester grade and also requires a PowerPoint presentation, which, a basic template is provided as the starting point for you- see below and the Business Plan Criteria document for the requirements. Be sure to have a safe place to store your documents and Business Plan drafts…..such as a USB key, there have been a few upset students that have had computer issues and ultimately lost all their work!
Important: There will be four (4) submissions required to complete your Business Plan Project. You will submit specific sections of the business plan throughout this semester, (check the Syllabus for due dates) with the fourth and final submission being your completed business plan semester project. Each submission is to include your previous submission sections so that the final submission is your completed Business Plan.
You will be using the Biz Builder Business Plan template, as well as the Biz Builder Worksheets as a reference source provided to you. The WORKSHEETS will help you to create your business plan by prompting you throughout the project to help you research and cover all the necessary topics in creating a thorough, professional business plan Depending on the business that you select, you will use quite a bit of this information and the questions will trigger you to think about areas that you may not have considered otherwise. Review the documents below, which include all the project requirements and grading criteria.
In addition, there will be assignments throughout the course modules that are solely for your business plan inclusion, so the more detailed and thorough work you submit, the easier it will be for you to compile your final business plan. Also, know that you will be required to do additional research on your own to address and enhance all topics/sections of your business plan semester project.

The Librarian resource page is located at the bottom of the HOME page after Module 12.
You must submit your PowerPoint Presentation with your Business Plan.
Your submission will be processed through Turnitin anti-plagiarism and anti-A.I. software.
Remember: this project is worth 30% of your semester grade and is due 12/6/23, no later than midnight.
Note: Your business choice MUST be approved by me before you can proceed with your Business Plan (chapter 2).
