This week we are going to look at decriminalization of prostitution and decriminalization of drug use. How are the goals of criminal law (the 5 basic goals which are incapacitation, rehabilitation, deterrence, retribution, and restitution, or some variety of these) reflected both in criminal statutes prohibiting prostitution and drug use, and in decriminalization of these two activities? Consider how other countries are dealing with these questions as well as how individual areas within the US are managing.
