This final project deals with the issue of police interrogation and false confessions. This will be an analytical project that is aimed at going well beyond just what scholars have published. By now, you know how to examine published research, so you should examine research with a keen eye aimed at getting to the truth. To complete this project, you should search in the scholar databases, including Westlaw, for articles concerning police interview and interrogation techniques that affect the veracity of admissions and confessions. You will need to not only cite those scholarly articles in your paper, but also “engage” the authors by discussing the validity and reliability of their research. When it comes time to upload your paper, you will need to upload the articles you acquired and used in the paper. You will also need to cite state and federal statutes and court cases on the subject matter. Don’t gloss over the subject matter. Instead, you need to be addressing the precise question as to whether any particular technique results more often in false confessions and secondarily (but just as important) are those assertions correct? One way or another.

The paper will need to be powerful and succinct. You will need to analyze and comment on the research in the paper. Use scholarly language.
