The news article needs to be recent (no more than 2 years old) and needs to show an aspect of environmental science in the report. This means it could address such things as: climate change, pollution, energy initiatives, oil use, renewable energy sources, population issues for various animals/insects/plants due to environmental or habitat changes… There are many things that would qualify.
