Discussion Board Post and Peer Response (Apply One Identified Concept in your Reading Summary to a Social Welfare/Social Work Practice)

This assignment requires students to connect assigned readings to recent/current/newsworthy social welfare or social work policy issues/events/discourse. Choose one of the three key concepts identified in your reading summary for this week for this discussion assignment. Discuss how one of your identified concepts/key points/arguments has been featured or came up or applied to a one recent/current/newsworthy social welfare or social work policies/events/issues. Please, do not use any event(s) that happened more than 2 years ago from the first day of class of the current semester as example(s) for this assignment). Students will produce an essay for this assignment and post it on a discussion board.
Peer Response Post
Student are required to read the post of their peers/classmates and respond to or comment on two of their peer’s posts each week. A peer response or comment must identify the idea/statement in the peer’s post it is meant for. Peer response must be significant. A significant response comes in many forms or a combination of forms. A significant response may:
provide concrete suggestions/examples/ideas from a different perspective.
focus on the possible implications/consequences of an idea/concept.
provide examples/arguments/ideas to contradict or provide different interpretation to previously posted examples/ideas.
expand on posted ideas/concepts/interpretations by providing additional evidence/information.
generate further discussion and/or generate “new” ideas related to the original idea.
Note:
Post and response must be written in the text box of the discussion board. Student must not attach their essays to the discussion board. Essays attached to the discussion board will be assigned zero point.
Student must use APA style to cite all recent/current/newsworthy social welfare or social work policy issues/events/discourse used as examples (The paper must comply with APA Style 7th edition style and formatting standards)
