We are studying Potassium as our Nutrient Deficient.
Using your textbook and at least TWO additional scientifically reliable sources of information, TYPE a brief (3/4 to 1 page, double spaced) INTRODUCTION to the mineral that you removing from your plants’ hydroponic solution in our plant nutrient deficiency study. Select a peer-reviewed, scientific journal article for at least ONE of your additional sources (you can use more than 1 peer-reviewed source).
In your introduction, summarize the major functions of and deficiency symptoms for your nutrients as provided by your sources. Do not provide direct quotes from sources! Summarize information. This is not meant to be an exhaustive search, but should include at least one reference to a study that was done that specifically looked at the function of, or deficiency symptoms, of your nutrient in plants. For the final one or two sentences of your assignment, make a specific hypothesis and predictions statement for your actual experiment.
At the bottom of your assignment, provide the APA formatted reference for all of your references (including textbook). If you choose not to use your textbook as a reference, you can replace it with a different scientifically reliable source of information.
At minimum, use 3 references.
Introduction (approximately 1 page):
Provide background information that puts your study into perspective. Provide information
(remembering to cite your sources of information) about plant nutrition, factors that affect plant growth
and appearance. Discuss the role of nutrients in plant growth, being very specific about your particular
nutrient. Have a clearly stated hypotheses and predictions (i.e. “lack of the essential nutrient calcium
will result in…”). Clearly indicate the purpose of the experiment.
